Van Gogh painted Wheat Field with Cypresses in 1889 during his stay at the asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence—a period when the outer world was distant, and the inner one was in full bloom.
This was one of the few paintings he described as a “calm and comforting” work. A rare breath of peace between episodes of turmoil.
But even in this calm, the air moves, the sky spins, and the trees seem to breathe.
The painting features the elements he loved most: golden fields, wind-swept cypress trees, olive groves, and a sky full of motion.
The clouds twist like smoke. The wheat flows like water.
The entire scene feels alive—not in realism, but in rhythm.
It’s not just a landscape. It’s a pulse.
Van Gogh didn’t paint this from memory—he painted it outdoors, directly in the wind. You can feel it in the heavy, confident brushstrokes, where the sky churns and the earth rolls with tension and relief. It was his way of grounding himself in the visible world, of proving that beauty still existed even when the mind doubted it.
Now, this energy unfolds across the fabric of this full-print shirt.
The composition stretches seamlessly over the front and back, capturing the movement of the sky, the towering presence of the cypress, and the trembling detail of the wheat field below.
The placement isn’t random—it follows the flow of Van Gogh’s own brush.
The cypress stands just left of centre, creating a visual anchor, while the swirling clouds drift naturally across the collar and sleeves.
This isn’t just a painting placed on a shirt. It’s a shirt built from the movement of a painting.
The result is a piece that feels like you’ve stepped into the frame—not as a subject, but as part of the landscape itself.
There’s a stillness to it. But not silence.
A quiet presence. A conversation between fabric, motion, and memory.
Wearing it feels like standing in a field that’s both growing and fading.
Like holding one of Van Gogh’s rare, peaceful moments—and letting it move with you.
